Kim, an East Coast native living on the edge of Canada, has always been an artist at heart. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, she studied Graphic Design in Prince Edward Island. At the young age of 22, she became an entrepreneur by founding Whink, a charming boutique in the heart of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, which thrived for 15 fabulous years before closing its doors.

Kim's passion for jewelry buying led her to design and create the exquisite Dory Blue Labradorite Jewelry Collection. This collection features raw, high-quality Labradorite, named after its place of discovery, Labrador. The success of this line of semi-precious stones paved the way for Sparkes Design, which includes other exotic gemstones from around the world.

Kim’s designs are distinct, timeless, and original. Each piece is sparked from her imagination and brought to life through sketches and production.
